Sara Peterson is a licensed Professional Counselor, and holds licensure in both Georgia and Wisconsin. She earned her Masters of Science degree in Educational Psychology from the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee. In addition to her Brainspotting training, Sara is trained in Equine-Assisted Psychotherapy, and holds an additional trauma certificate from the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee. She is a mind-body focused psychotherapist, and brings to her practice knowledge of and training in mindfulness meditation, breathwork, and yoga theory.
Sara is a certified Brainspotter with extensive experience, and she truly values her up to date, continued training in this modality. Her passion is direct application - using BSP daily in her private practice, providing service to those in pain. Her primary focus is working with individuals who are adult survivors of childhood traumas. She is well experienced in working with PTSD, attachment disorders, anxiety, co-dependency/relationship issues, domestic violence, divorce recovery, pain, and insomnia.
Sara is a founding member of The Southeast Brainspotting Institute, and served in the Vice President role for the institute until April, 2019, when she stepped out of that role into a ‘regular’ board position. She is moving to Mexico in August, 2019, but absolutely intends to remain involved in the BSP community in the South as well as in the larger world.
