Pain is one of the most ancient tools for interpretation of stimuli from our nervous system that has endured until the present time. Pain is an alarm mechanism that has alerted our primitive system to avoid danger, seek help and repair our tissues in order to survive in this planet for over a billion years. Without this internal alarm we would have disappeared as a species long ago. Our sub cortical regions of our brain are constantly scanning our body receiving stimuli from receptors in our skin and organs, detecting tissue irritation or damage. However, this alarm system could be either oversensitive to scanning for body sensations or may get easily stuck sounding danger even long after repairs may have taken place. By using Brainspotting Pain Reduction Model (BSP PRM), Erick Sandstad helps patients reduce suffering from physical and emotional pain.

Erick Sandstad is a License Professional Counselor for Georgia and Kentucky. He helps individuals resolve a wide range of life challenges and issues, with special attention to the treatment of pain reduction, social anxiety disorder, traumatic emotional conditioning, depersonalization and derealization disorders, and nightmare disorder. Working with an integration of complementary methods, including CBT, Reality therapy, Gestalt therapy, Brainspotting therapy, EMDR and Hypnotherapy. His specialty is the treatment of psychological, spiritual, emotional, behavioral and psychosomatic issues which have been shaped by the experience of traumatic life events such as ASD, PTSD, and DID. Erick Sandstad prefers to work holistically, with attention and respect for the mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual dimensions of the human experience. Sandstad is fluent in Spanish and Italian.
