This SEBInar will introduce clinicians to the basics of OCD and anxiety and introduce a model using Exposure and Response Prevention combined with Brainspotting to address anxiety and OCD

Lisa R. Terry is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) who enjoys working with men, women, adolescents, and teens. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from the University of Florida in 1988 and her Master of Science degree in Community Counseling from Georgia State University in 1990.

Lisa is certified through the International Obsessive Compulsive Disorder Foundation (IOCDF) by the Advanced Behavioral Therapy Training Institute (ABTTI).  For more information about ABTTI and IOCDF, see their website at https://iocdf.org/professionals/training-institute/btti/.

Lisa earned her certification in Brainspotting (BSP) in 2017.

Lisa began her career in counseling at the United Methodist Children's Home (UMCH) in Decatur, Georgia where she served as Director of Counseling Services overseeing eight other therapists. In 1994, she left UMCH and joined a private group practice.

In 1998, Lisa discovered a passion for working with children and teenagers with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder.  She began successfully treating clients suffering from OCD and other anxiety disorders with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP).

Lisa opened her own private practice in 2000. Since 2000, she has written articles about couples that have chosen to not have children, divorce, and anxiety. She was selected by MTV to provide therapeutic input for a contestant on an episode of "I Used to be Fat," a show that depicts overweight high school seniors on their quest to lose significant amounts of weight before starting college.

During her own therapy process, Lisa discovered Brainspotting (BSP) and found it to be a technique that was life changing. Lisa started using BSP as a treatment technique in 2015. Lisa uses BSP to help people with emotional and physical symptoms resulting from Stress, Anxiety, Dysregulation, and Trauma. She has also found BSP to be an effective and efficient treatment tool for Separation Issues, PTSD, Physical and Emotional Trauma.  She is most excited about incorporating BSP into her work with her OCD and anxiety clients.

Lisa currently works with teens and adults in Alpharetta, GA, a northern suburb of Atlanta.
